As a long-standing sustainability and inclusion advocate and seasoned journalist, Trang has devoted her career to addressing underreported social and environmental issues.
Her milestone campaigns include advocating for the first state law banning child marriage in the US, opening the UK’s first safe house for LGBTQ+ refugees and championing Indonesia’s first provincial plastic bag ban. She also helped develop a Know-Your-Rights guide for refugees and asylum seekers in the US and supported a landmark case against the distribution of sex crime videos in India.
As a freelance journalist, Trang reported for outlets including Channel News Asia, Mongabay, and Eco-Business, breaking stories from the global shark meat trade to threats facing the world’s most endangered great ape.
She currently leads thought leadership and sustainability communications for Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, in addition to working on the fund’s new social impact programmes. In her spare time, Trang volunteers as a running guide for people with disabilities and serves on the management committee of Runninghour, Singapore’s largest inclusive sports cooperative, where she works to promote the integration of individuals with special needs through sports.
